John Lydon's Megabugs

There's not been one for ages, and then along come three at the same time…!

Not content with giving us his two forthcoming Channel 5 shows, John has also completed a 10 part series for the Discovery Channel (UK). John Lydon's Megabugs begins on Sunday 7th November at 5pm (Sky 551 / NTL 500). The first episode of the series will look at Spiders.

John is just about to set off to New Orleans to complete the voice over's for the remainder of the series. Discovery are currently running Rotten style commercials with John swatting himself with a flyswatter. There are also posters and billboards featuring John, one surrounded by Killer Bee's, and another with John turning into a Preying Mantis. Keep your eyes peeled… Nature Boy is back… with a vengeance.

John Lydon's Megabugs

John Lydon goes back to the Jungle in Discovery's Megabugs… John Lydon has teamed up with Discovery Channel to present a new ten part series on one of his favourite subjects – bugs!

Lydon is on a mission: to find the biggest, hairiest, stickiest and most indestructible insects in the world. In this exciting new series, John goes stateside in search of the continent’s most infamous bugs, from 30-year-old tarantulas and deadly hornets, to rhinoceros cockroaches and glow-in-the-dark scorpions.

En route, John meets the crazy, colourful characters who live and work with such mega bugs daily and literally immerses himself in the world of bugs, being swarmed by killer bees and sucked by leeches along the way.

John Lydon’s Megabugs is full of mega facts about these mega bugs – including how a spider’s webbing is so strong, it can be made into rope that will hold John’s weight, and how a rhinoceros cockroach is so tough, if the average human had the same power as one, then they would be able to carry the equivalent of 76 family cars on their backs!

Lydon believes that it’s time some of the world’s most feared bugs got the respect that they deserve and this fascinating series will uncover some extraordinary facts about these most remarkable creatures.

John Lydon's Shark Attack

John Lydon. Punk superstar, national icon and mad keen natural historian.

A lifelong shark fanatic, John is desperate to fulfil his dream of meeting sharks in the wild. In this one hour documentary he travels to South Africa and takes a crash course in scuba so that he can dive in the world's most shark infested waters - and meet the ultimate super predator, the great white...

Even meetings with shark attack victims don't put him off, as John risks life and limb to come face to face with the ocean's most ancient hunters.

John Lydon Goes Ape !

John Lydon. Punk superstar, national icon and mad keen natural historian.

Having spent some time in a celebrity jungle, John's decided to experience the real thing. With best mate John Rambo, he's embarking on a once in a lifetime journey into the heart of East Africa, with the ultimate aim of meeting his oldest relatives - the gorillas who date back to a time when dinosaurs ruled the earth, 65 million years ago.

And there won't be a celeb in sight.

John's jungle odyssey will take him to see his closest next of kin in the animal kingdom - the chimpanzee - and through impenetrable jungles where he'll encounter the largest living ape - the endangered Silverback Mountain gorilla.

No, no news of Mr Lydon, just some site updates. I wonder where on earth he could be…?

As you may have noticed I've done some general tinkering throughout the week, nothing major just some little things. I have to say though, I thought it was obvious the big "e" on the pages was the email link, but apparently not! Oh, well…

The first chunk of the multi-media is now available. Please read the "technical bollocks" first before dowloading. I've already had to upgrade the site's bandwith and web space…

In the future I'd like to add video clips, amongst many other things, but at present we don't have means to do so. If anybody can help either with the set up, or by supplying finished video files, please get in touch…

What are John Lydon's current plans? That would be telling…It's John's nature not to talk about things till they're done…

News Round Up…

Well, helllo there…

Welcome to the new JohnLydon.Com. Months in the preparation, days in the making…

Parts of the site are still under development, more will be added over the following weeks and months. Some features of the old site still remain (thanks to Steve), however, this is pretty much a clean break. Basically, what you see here is just the building blocks for the new site. It will change and expand, and in turn improve.

JohnLydon.Com will run in conjunction with The Filth and the Fury and Fodderstompf, but will have a unique flavour, which will hopefully go some way in representing Mr Lydon on the internet... Some pages - like parts of the discography and lyrics - will be hosted by F&F and therefore have a different appearance and style etc, the archived john-lydon.com news will also remain as it is.

Please note we are also starting a new mailing list concentrating solely on Mr Lydon's many activities, not just PiL. If you are a Fodderstompf member you should already have been invited to join, if not you will have to sign up again... Mailing list membership is separate from forum membership.

News Archive

Non 'news related' site updates are featured on the Admin Message Board.

Please note this part of the news archive comes from the previous John-Lydon.Com site. Therefore it will have a different appearance and style etc to the current site. Although all images should load fine, given the age of the features, maybe not all external links will work. If you spot anything that you think can be fixed just let us know...
