news'Guitar Hero III - Legends of Rock' video game – featuring the new re-recorded versions of 'Pretty Vacant' & 'Anarchy in UK' is set to be released in the States on October 28th; with a European release following on November 9th.

The game is available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii, PC, Mac. And can now be pre-ordered via the Guitar Hero website.

Despite what has recently been reported elsewhere, the Sex Pistols re-recorded BOTH 'Pretty Vacant' & 'Anarchy in UK' solely for use in 'Guitar Hero'.

Unable to locate the original multi-track masters for 'Anarchy in the UK' & 'Pretty Vacant' – John Lydon, Steve Jones & Paul Cook; along with original producer Chris Thomas – entered the studio in summer 2007 to re-record the tracks exclusively for use in the game. Read our recent interview with John for further information on the re-recordings.

You can now watch the official Guitar Hero III: Sex Pistols Trailer, which includes an interview with John, via Yahoo Games.

This is not nostalgia. 'God Save The Queen' is just as powerful and relevant now as it was 30 years ago. Probably more so. The track has inspired countless musicians and individuals worldwide since its original release in May 1977. And will continue to inspire – forever. "We're the future. Your future…"

There are not many songs – written over baked beans at the breakfast table – that went onto divide a nation and force a change in popular culture. No one had ever dared question the Monarchy so publicly; and it wasn't without its repercussions. Members of the band were attacked in the streets; and Government Members of Parliament even called for the Pistols to be hung at London’s Traitors’ Gate!

The powers-that-be decided that having the Sex Pistols top of the record charts the week of the Queen's 25th Silver Jubilee just wasn't on. Even though it technically out-sold the Number 1 single of the week –  'The First Cut is the Deepest' by Rod Stewart – 'God Save The Queen' only charted at Number 2. This wasn’t a conspiracy theory, this was for real.

Over the years many people have tried to tell Mr Rotten what his lyrics mean. But perhaps this quote from 'The Filth and The Fury' film says it best: "You don't write 'God Save The Queen' because you hate the English race, you write a song like that because you love them; and you're fed up with them being mistreated…"

blankseptember 21st 2007: extra update

newsDue to overwhelming demand the Sex Pistols added a 2nd and 3rd date to their previously announced London, Brixton Academy show. Tickets for all 3 shows went on sale this morning and quickly sold-out.

Contrary to reports elsewhere ticket prices for all 3 shows were EXACTLY the same (£37.50).

We hope you will appreciate we were updating JL.Com as quickly as possible. Things were happening very fast! Please note: The reason we didn't send a Mailing-List update for the 3rd show was because just as we sent the 2nd show update, the third went on sale!

Ticket Touts: Never Mind the Parasites

JohnLydon.Com is saddened to hear that tickets for the Brixton shows have already fallen into the wrong hands; leaving many loyal fans frustrated. Unfortunately these are circumstances out of our control.

We genuinely sympathise with these fans, many of whom now feel they will be forced to turn to ticket touts. John Lydon in NO way condones ticket touts. Both he and everyone at JohnLydon.Com are completely against touts, ebay charlatans, and grasping ticket agencies. These people are parasites and should be regarded as such.

Of course, not everyone was disappointed this morning and many of you have contacted us to say you have your tickets, and are looking forward to the shows. It’s up to everyone with tickets to make sure they stay with the people who deserve them.

Without wanting to patronise anyone – make no mistake about it – John Lydon does appreciate your support and hopes that those who deserve tickets will get them; without being ripped-off. But no, he doesn’t have any spare tickets! No joking.

See you in the Rose & Crown…
