A new interview with John Lydon is scheduled to be included on the BBC 6 Music, Breakfast Show, tomorrow, Tuesday, November 29th, approx 7-10am. John will be speaking about the new PiL studio album due for release next year.
A further interview with John – regarding the recent debate about his Sex Pistols doodles – will be broadcast either this week or next.
November 26th 2011
Some of John's doodles – and caricatures of the Sex Pistols – from the walls of the Pistols Denmark Street rehearsal rooms drawn circa 1977 have become a talking point in academic circles.
"Graffiti by Sex Pistols frontman Johnny Rotten may be of greater significance than the discovery of early Beatles recordings, academics have said..." - BBC
A new paperback book about football culture has just been published that includes a guest chapter from John Lydon. 'Theatre of Silence: The Lost Soul of Football' by
Matthew Bazell
was published on October 27th by
Pegasus Elliot Mackenzie. The book was origainly published in 2008 and has now been updated. John's chapter was specially written for the update.
The book will be available nationwide in the UK via Waterstones; plus the famous Foyle's on Charing Cross Road. And is available now via Amazon.
THE FOOTBALL BOOK WITH A ROTTEN EDGE! They used to call it the people’s game – but not anymore; silent crowds, soulless all-seater stadiums, rip-off ticket pricing, corporate priorities, players diving, 24/7 fixtures, aggressive stewards, overbearing advertising, overpaid players, agents and of course - Sepp Blatter.
All of these and more are the target of a relentless attack from Matthew Bazell, who asks why no-one’s singing anymore. In a heartfelt personal account, Bazell examines the way in which football, both on and off the field has lost its soul to greed, but argues that, ultimately it’s the supporters who have the power to reclaim the game. This new edition includes updates, pictures, new material and a special guest chapter by John Lydon.
The new issue of Mojo magazine includes a huge feature on the making of PiL's 'Album' album, including a new interview with John Lydon. Mojo describes the record as "one of the most complex, bracing rock LP's of modern times...".
The article also brings things up to date with a special look at the making of the new PiL studio album due for release next year.
We've added the recent PiL studio album interviews and previews from Clash Magazine and NME to the Press Archives.
This weeks NME includes an interview with John from the recording studio in Cotswolds; where PiL have recently completed their new studio album due for release next year.
The current issue of Clash Magazine also includes a studio preview feature on the album.

John Lydon Statement regards Never Mind The Dovecotes Punk Compilation
"I would like to be able to trust the National Trust but from this point forward I cant.
I was very proud to collaborate with The National Trust back in 2003 and voice a radio advert for them.
No one however has even spoke to myself or my management or had a conversation with myself or my management about this album. Never Mind The.... Permission.
Thievery as I have always thought seems to come from very high places. Whatever happened to the art of conversation.
As of yet I am still not sure what the game is in all this.
I love my England, my honest England.
My heart is true but this particular situation seems deeply sneaky and we are waiting to be supplied with information on this chain of events and the answer better be good"
John Lydon, August 4th 2011
