PiL: Indigo at the O2: Only 1 week to go until PiL's one-off show at London's Indigo at the O2, on Saturday, December 13th 2014.

PiL are currently in the studio recording their 10th studio album, the follow-up to their critically and publicly acclaimed 2012 album, 'This is PiL'. This event will NOT be followed by a public signing, pre-signed copies of John's book will be available ONLY at the event on the evening for £20. There are two buying options for this event. Option 1 costs £20 and gets you entry to the event and a pre-signed copy of 'Anger is an Energy'. Option 2 costs just £5 and is a general, unallocated seating ticket for the event.

We are pleased to announce that PiL will play a one-off concert at London’s Indigo at the O2 on Saturday, December 13th 2014. This is the first PiL show since October 2013 and their only show of 2014.

Tickets go on general sale this Friday, September 19th, at 11am. Preceded by a PiL Official pre-sale on Thursday, September 18th, at 11am (BST). Links will be posted on www.pilofficial.com prior to pre-sale start.

John Lydon contributes a foreword to the new Front Line 'Sounds of Reality' box set released via Virgin Records.

The deluxe 5 disc box features many of Jamaica's greatest talents, performing 92 of the most enduring Roots, Dub, Lovers Rock and DJ sounds of the seventies, with over 31 tracks new to CD, of which a third are previously unissued. Also included in the set are a 52 page booklet, repro posters and car sticker.

John recounts his scouting trip to Jamaica with Richard Branson in February 1978 which was key to Virgin's acquisition of some of the finest Reggae recordings of the era.

One of the great icons of popular music, John Lydon (aka Johnny Rotten) is to appear at the historic Albert Hall in Manchester to launch his autobiography Anger is An Energy: My Life Uncensored.

John Lydon will be taking part in an exclusive no-holds-barred live onstage interview with DJ/writer Dave Haslam, discussing his turbulent life, from his beginnings as a sickly child of immigrant Irish parents who grew up in post-war London to his present status as an alternative national hero, via the Sex Pistols, Public Image Ltd (PiL), collaborations with Afrika Bambaataa and Leftfield, compelling opinions and celebrated TV appearances.

He’ll also be signing copies of his autobiography (the book will be on sale at the venue on the night).
 
This will surely be one of Manchester’s most memorable pop culture events of the year.

Sorry for the delay updating people. We are in as much shock over the cancellation of Jesus Christ Superstar as everyone else. Rehearsals had been going extremely well. John was really looking forward to being King Herod and working with such a great bunch of people. We are all bitterly disappointed. We hope people were not too inconvenienced. We know flights and hotels were booked. We feel for everyone from the fans to the cast and crew who were a joy to work with. If we knew more we would tell you…

The tour was scheduled to kick off in New Orleans on June 9. All purchased tickets will be refunded. Tickets purchased online and via telephone will be automatically refunded. Tickets purchased from outlets/venue box office must be returned to that location for refund.

We are proud to confirm John Lydon will be playing King Herod in the North American arena tour of Jesus Christ Superstar this summer.

The 54-city tour will kick off in New Orleans’ Lakefront Arena on June 9th - taking in the likes of Toronto, Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles, New York City and many more cities - before closing at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Arena on August 17th. John will be joined by Brandon Boyd of Incubus (Judas Iscariot), JC Chasez from NSYNC (Pontius Pilate) and Michelle Williams from Destiny’s Child (Mary Magdalene); along with British actor and singer Ben Forster (Jesus Christ) in Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s new arena rock production of the long established stage show.

Set in the present day and updated for a 21st-century audience, Jesus Christ Superstar is a live two-hour rock concert with over 50 cast and musicians performing a dramatization of the last seven days in the life of Jesus of Nazareth. Told from the point of view of Jesus’s friend Judas Iscariot, the original story from The Bible is reflected through our modern society to bring the Gospels to life using contemporary costumes plus arena-scale lighting and video effects that demonstrate the eternal power of this timeless story.

For Record Store Day 2014 (UK/Europe) PiL will be releasing a limited edition double A 12" single featuring 2 very rare mixes. The 1979 Death Disco unedited monitor mix (9:24 mins) backed by Warrior 1989 extended Dave Dorrell mix (9:39 mins).

The mix of Death Disco is getting its first ever vinyl release and was previously only available as an audio extra on the 2005 John Lydon - Best of British £1 Notes DVD. The extended Dave Dorrell mix of Warrior was previously only given a US 12" release in 1989.

For Record Store Day 2014 the Sex Pistols will release a limited edition numbered 7x7” vinyl box set featuring alternative takes of ‘Never Mind The Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols’, plus two 1977 studio mixes of the ‘Belsen Was A Gas’ (including an unreleased version).

Each single has unique front and back sleeves taken from rare Sex Pistols artwork or import sleeves (see below).

We are pleased to confirm that John Lydon is working on a new autobiography. The - as yet untitled book - is scheduled for a hardback release via publishers Simon & Schuster in October 2014. John will be writing the book with British music journalist Andrew Perry.

John Lydon: "This book is basically about the life of a serious risk-taker. I make things safe for other people to follow on in my wake. I’m a stand-up-and-be-counted fella – but that’s in a world where nobody seems to be able to count."

We are in the process of making a comprehensive, career-spanning documentary film about Public Image Ltd and we would like your help! 

We are looking for never before seen photographs as well as film and video footage of PiL and John Lydon from any time period. If you have ANYTHING that you think may be of interest please drop us a note. You will be credited in the end titles if we use your footage.

Do you have a photo souvenir of the infamous Ritz riot show? Do you have a picture with or without John showing your injuries after being hit by a flying object!

Did you shoot video of John signing your PiL records at the Monsters of Alternative Rock Tour in 1989?
