Mr Lawson said his PiL homage got some celebrity comment. He said: "We actually sent a copy of the FiL logo to John Lydon's website. He laughed at it, saying the PiL logo had been often imitated, but never bettered."

You never sent us anything.

Thievery is no laughing matter. In fact, it's a lazy insult.

Your Fake Image will be Limited. No joke.

Sex Pistols Add Two More London Dates
And DOUBLE the prices…

Gigwise.com
September 22nd

The wrinkly punks' one-off date at Brixton Academy on 8th November sold out in 10 minutes, so the band have booked out the following two days at the same venue and raised ticket prices to £85.

JL.Com: Contrary to reports like the above ticket prices for all 3 Brixton shows were EXACTLY the same (£37.50).
And incidentally, Hope Comes In A Jar!

Rotten's Tenacious D Demands

ContactMusic.com
November 23rd 2006

THE SEX PISTOLS star JOHNNY ROTTEN cancelled a cameo appearance in TENACIOUS D AND THE PICK OF DESTINY after demanding "a million dollars" from producers. Star KYLE GASS claims Rotten - real name JOHN LYDON - made the demand just to be "outrageous", but he and co-star JACK BLACK called his bluff. Gass says, "We were using him in part of our movie and at the last second he pulled out unless we gave him a million dollars or something stupid. "He's just trying to be outrageous and he's run out of outrageous."

Outrageous.

As fabrication goes this is outrageous.

You never talked to me. You never attempted to talk to me.

As of right now you’re still only talking to yourself. Outrageous.

PS: I wouldn’t ask you for a penny for a piss. Outrageous?

Mind of a Mogul

ContactMusic.com
Taken from this months Uncut magazine:

McLAREN: 'AMERICA MADE LYDON BORING'

Former SEX PISTOLS svengali MALCOLM MCLAREN is amazed JOHN LYDON still hates him, and blames the star's move to America for destroying his "sense of humour". Lydon, also known as JOHNNY ROTTEN, and MCLaren have had a stormy relationship ever since 1976, the year the Sex Pistols were launched.

But the music mogul is convinced his flame-haired protege has lost his sense of reality since retiring to Malibu, California, and believes Lydon would have loosened up if he still lived in London. He says, "Perhaps I'm surprised that John Lydon still feels that strongly about me after 30 years. Not to be smart-a**ed about it but, if you live in Malibu where he does, it's a place where rock stars go to die. "If you move there, you will lose your sense of humour and any sense of perspective. I'm not sure he would have the same opinion of me for 30 years if he'd stayed in London. "His problem is that he could never escape being Johnny Rotten because John Lydon was never interesting enough. Sad but true."

Bollocks to your Swindle

When John Lydon spoke to Record Collector magazine last year he had no idea that the journalist, Joel McIver, would be using parts of the interview for his (now published) book on the making of the ‘Great Rock n Roll Swindle’. So when JohnLydon.Com brought it to John’s attention he had this to say…

“Now, I couldn’t possibly be involved in a book on the making of the ‘Rock n Roll Swindle’, because I wasn’t there. It’s nothing to do with me. I’ve got nothing to say. So any quotes of mine are being misdirected.

“When people need to do that – then they don’t know much about the making of the Swindle –  but they do know about making their own swindle. Because that’s a swindle. You’re using stuff that’s actually not connected to it, and padding it up. I think he’s implying that I’m a Swindle.”

Not only that, McIver has also used quotes from interviews with John taken from The Filth and the Fury & Fodderstompf websites – interviews which are shared with JohnLydon.Com – and didn’t have the common decency to credit them. How nice of him.

This is the same journalist who emailed JohnLydon.Com in February this year to ask if we would put a link to his website on the Record Collector interview, which we willingly obliged.

Given these circumstances, we have decided to remove the whole Record Collector interview from the site.

Be warned Mr Journalist we do not tolerate thievery...

Never Mind the Bollocks?

A man in Ireland was given 7 days in prison last week for wearing a ‘Never Mind the Bollocks’ t-shirt to court. Defendant Philip Dunleavy was asked by the Judge if he had “good reason for wearing it”, when he replied that he didn’t, he was sentenced to 7 days in Cloverhill Prison, “to think about his attire”.

Irish politicians and legal experts have described his incarceration as “extreme and unusual”. Especially considering Dunleavy offered to change to a plain shirt, but was refused.

You can read the whole story at the Irish Sunday Independent website.

It’s worth pointing out that in 1977 the Sex Pistols were taken to court over the word “bollocks”. And won.

Reading the transcript of John's recent interview with Sirius Radio reminded us of something we saw written in the official ($29.95) 'Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum Guide Book'.

Here's what their book says:

July 1976
The Ramones perform at The Roundhouse in London. They are approached by future members of The Clash, Pretenders, Damned and Sex Pistols, and asked how to form a band.

'How to form a band?' Oh really? Here's the truth of the matter straight from the horses mouth:

"… the very night The Ramones were at this Roundhouse thing, I was actually playing a live gig at Sheffield, alright, the Sex Pistols were already up and at it mate, so it’s historically incorrect. It’s a lie."

On July 4th 1976 the Sex Pistols (and The Clash) played the Black Swan, Sheffield. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are blatantly re-writing history. How can the Sex Pistols have anything to do with lies like that? Of course, we know better, but thousands of visitors to that museum are being mislead. And it's just not good enough.
