Johnny Rotten needs a PiL |
JOHNNY ROTTEN wants to reform PUBLIC IMAGE LTD, the group he formed after walking out on the SEX PISTOLS in 1978. He told me: “We were like a symphony orchestra with machine guns. It would be great to revisit.” PiL were formed in 1978 with guitarist KEITH LEVENE and bassist JAH WOBBLE plus a rotating cast of musicians. The band split in 1992. I watched the Pistols’ new DVD There’ll Always Be An England last week and it’s a must for all fans. In it, Rotten, who famously described the Royal Family as “a fascist regime”, reveals he shares Prince Charles’s views on modern architecture. He says: “So much of London’s new buildings are absolute bloody rubbish. They should tear them all down. I’m starting to know what Prince Charles feels like. That’s a worry.” Proof that we all mellow with age. |
