John and Rambo would like to pass on their condolences to the family of Gerald John Green who they met many times at the Cotswolds while recording ‘This is PiL’ and ‘What The World Needs Now…’. Gerald was always a friendly old face and he always had time for them.
As Rambo’s uncle had served in Palestine with the Paras just after the Second World War, Rambo particularly appreciated Gerald’s stories about serving in the Palestine Police around the same time, where Gerald was injured twice with shrapnel. Gerald often shared stories with John and Rambo of how he still carried the shrapnel wounds.
RIP Gerald.
